"History of Radio Journalism in Portugal: from the first news programs to the 90s" is the title of the work recently coordinated and published by Nelson Ribeiro, Director of the Faculty of Humanities, UCP and researcher at the Center for Communication and Culture Studies, and Ana Isabel Reis, researcher at CITCEM and professor at the University of Porto.
The book brings together a set of contributions on the subject, covering the period between the emergence of the first news programs, in the late 1920s, and the second phase of liberalization of the radio sector in the early 1990s.
The book allows us to understand how long it took to establish journalism as an autonomous field within radio stations and the evolution of different journalistic genres in the context of radio in Portugal.
