Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Art and Diplomacy to the United States Ambassador to Portugal, Randi Charno Levine, at a ceremony held on 9 January.
Randi Charno Levine will now be a lecturer on the master's and doctoral programmes in Cultural Studies at UCP's Faculty of Human Sciences. This master's programme is recognised by Eduniversal Ranking as the second best in the world in the field of Arts Management.
This honorary degree reflects Católica's commitment to promoting a dynamic intersection between diplomacy and the arts, fields in which Randi Charno Levine has always shown exceptional leadership skills and strategic vision.
During the ceremony, the President of the Universidade Católica, Isabel Capeloa Gil, emphasised that "Randi Levine's efforts to promote deep economic and cultural ties between Portugal and the United States are remarkable and leave a lasting legacy. We are confident that her distinguished career and experience will enrich the academic community and inspire our students".
With a degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Ambassador Randi Charno Levine is also a published author.
