The Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) reiterates its annual commitment to supporting Portuguese-American students through the Católica Fellowships for Portuguese-American Students, offering five scholarships to students seeking a Bachelor's or Master's degree in any field of knowledge.
"Thanks to CFPAS, I was able to embrace my Portuguese heritage while pursuing a Master's degree in International Management," says Juliana Aguiar, one of the students who received the scholarship in 2020 Juliana chose the Master's in International Management, specializing in Strategy and Consulting.
After completing a degree in Business Administration and Management at California State University, Stanislaus, Juliana embraced the challenge of continuing her studies at Universidade Católica Portuguesa and highlights the quality of the academic environment at UCP "colleagues from diverse backgrounds, professors who are experts in their field, connections to worthwhile companies and the opportunity to live in the vibrant city of Lisbon", she says.
Juliana's impactful experience not only fills her with gratitude for the opportunity to connect deeply with her Portuguese heritage during her studies, but also leads her to enthusiastically conclude: "I will cherish my time at Católica and encourage other Portuguese-American students to take advantage of this amazing opportunity".
The Católica Fellowships are based on the merit of the candidates and are awarded to American students of Portuguese descent who wish to pursue an academic degree at UCP. These scholarships are awarded to candidates for Bachelor's and Master's degrees in any field of knowledge and continue to be an essential bridge for Portuguese-American students.
The program, in addition to providing financial support, also offers the opportunity for recipients to become CFPAS Ambassadors, allowing students to positively influence the academic community and promote the opportunities offered by UCP to future candidates.
