Multiple generations of former students were present at the campus of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) in Porto to celebrate and reunite with former colleagues and teachers. The event, which took place on July 6, brought together more than 300 former students from the eight academic units.
Some of the main moments were the welcome given by Isabel Braga da Cruz, Pro-Rector of UCP, and also the announcement of the start of the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia, made by Paula Castro, director of this School. Also noteworthy was the always much appreciated performance of the Tuna of UCP in Porto.
"It is a great joy to welcome our alumni to our alma mater. The University is, by definition, a place in constant construction. And in this process, we count on all those who have lived it, and all those who are now fulfilling it daily in the job market. We train generations and generations of people to make a difference in society and it is with great pleasure that we always have our doors open to welcome them in a dialogue that we want to be ongoing,” stressed Isabel Braga da Cruz, Pro-Rector of UCP.
The meeting was also attended by Professor Carvalho Guerra and representatives and professors from the different Faculties of UCP in Porto.
The Alumni Fest is a joint initiative of UCP in Porto with the various Alumni Associations (Biotechnology, Law and Education and Psychology) and with the different alumni communities (Católica Porto Business School, Escola de Enfermagem, Escola das Artes, Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde e Enfermagem e Faculdade de Teologia no Porto).
