Fundação Amélia de Mello protocolo

Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) and the Fundação Amélia de Mello signed today, February 2, a protocol which provides for the continued strengthening of higher education and training provided by the UCP.

This partnership between the two entities, which began in 1967, is now reinforced for another four years, which makes the FAM one of the most important patrons of the UCP.

According to Isabel Capeloa Gil, Rector of the UCP, "this protocol allows extending a long-standing relationship, adapting it to the new development needs of the UCP and reflecting the Foundation's vocation of intervention in the educational field and social responsibility."

Vasco de Mello, president of the Fundação Amélia de Mello  and member of the Strategic Orientation Council of the Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics, also pointed out that "this allows to extend a long-standing relationship, adapting it to the new development needs of the UCP and reflecting the vocation of intervention in the educational field and social responsibility of the Foundation".

Besides the attribution of scholarships to students of recognized academic merit, without financial means to complete their degrees, masters and doctorates, in several Faculties of the UCP, this protocol also foresees the support to the "Alfredo da Silva Chair" and sponsorship of conferences, among other initiatives.
