Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça, former vice-rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, has been awarded the University of Coimbra Prize. The prize will be awarded on March 1, during the commemoration of the 731st anniversary of the University of Coimbra.
Awarded annually, the University of Coimbra Prize distinguishes a Portuguese personality who has stood out for an intervention in the areas of culture or science.
Cardinal D. Tolentino de Mendonça was Vice-Rector of Católica between 2012 and 2018, having also held the position of Director of the Faculdade de Teologia.
