The Universidade Católica Portuguesa received a visit from representatives of the Aga Khan University, between September 14 and 16, thus continuing the good institutional relationship between the two Universities.
The delegation of the Aga Khan University (AKU), led by Provost Carl Amrhein, who attended the inauguration of the Católica Medical School on September 14, accompanied by the Director of the Office of International Partnerships, Farzana Karim-Haji, included specialists in the areas of Medicine, Communication and Media, and Education.
The programme of the institutional visit of the representatives of the Aga Khan University included sectorial meetings with the Rector and members of the Faculdade de Ciências Humanas, Católica Medical School, ICS and Faculdade de Educação e Psicologia. The two universities signed an agreement for academic collaboration in 2008.
Established in 1983, the Aga Khan University is an institution of the Aga Khan Development Network, and is recognised for the quality of its research and teaching in areas such as medicine, nursing, health care, community service and teacher training. The university has facilities and programmes in countries in South Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
