Isabel Capeloa Gil, President of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and President of the International Federation of Catholic Universities, was one of the guests on the "Education" panel at the 7th edition of EurAfrican Forum, an event organised by the Portuguese Diaspora Council, whose motto this year was "Africa: The Next Chapter – Partnering for Growth".

During the session, Isabel Capeloa Gil spoke about the importance of education, highlighting that it "has the capacity to inspire and mobilise the entire community to bring about the changes needed to transform the lives of the younger generations, especially women", giving the Girl MOVE Academy as an example. "It is transforming the lives of young women who are thus seeking a better individual and common future", she emphasised.

During her speech, the UCP Rector stressed that "schools are civic centres where the quality of social and pedagogical interaction is fundamental" and also highlighted the importance of Liberal Arts in educational proposals: "we can't take Liberal Arts out of the equation, they are what explains the raison d'être of the various options".

The panel, moderated by journalist Fernanda Freitas, also included Isabel Capeloa Gil, Ariel D. King, Founder and President of the Ariel Foundation, João Amaro de Matos, Vice-Rector of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Ricardo Martins, Director of Pedagog and Ryan Williams, CEO & Founder of Glu Learning.
