"¿De qué casa eres? Los niños de Rusia. Episodios de un cotidiano #4" opened on April 18, at the Amélia de Mello Foundation Gallery, at the headquarters of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP).
The artist Ana Pérez-Quiroga presents in the Gallery an autobiographical project that she began in 2016 and to which she is adding new readings by paying homage to the story of her mother, Angela Petra who was one of the 2,895 refugee children, Niños de Rusia, who during the Spanish Civil War (1936-39) were sent to the Soviet Union without their families.
The guests accompanied the artist and the curator, Luísa Santos, on a guided tour of the works that make up this post-memory.
The exhibition is part of the Cultura@Católica program, and is supported by the Amélia de Mello Foundation, Innovarisk, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Jopinto, Centro de Estudos de Comunicação e Cultura, and the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.
Guided tours are available by appointment at catolicacultura@gmail.com.
