Rector of UCP joins Europaeum's Board of Trustees

Isabel Capeloa Gil, Rector of Universidade Católica Portuguesa and member of the Academic Council of Europaeum will join the Board of Trustees of this network, which brings together 18 European universities, as of January 2023.

As part of the association's 30th anniversary celebrations, which will take place from September 30th to October 1st at Balliol College, Oxford, the Rector will moderate the panel on October 1st (11:00 am) with the theme "Challenges to Academic Freedom", having as speakers Professor van den Doel (Leiden University) and Professor Jan Wouters (KU Leuven).

Founded in 1992 by George Weidenfeld, Ronald Grierson and Roy Jenkins, former Chancellor of Oxford University and the first President of the European Commission, Europaeum emerges as an "international university without walls", where future researchers and European leaders share knowledge and common challenges, promoting excellence in research and teaching, through a network that supports and promotes European Studies.
