At a recent meeting at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, the Ambassador of the United States, Randi Charno Levine, emphasized the significant contributions of women to history, in line with "Women's History Month".
During the event, the Ambassador reflected on the importance of culture as a unifying instrument between diverse nations and cultures. Randi Charno Levine expressed her conviction that the arts and culture constitute a universal language, essential for establishing communication, building trust and identifying points of convergence.
The Ambassador also stressed the importance and benefits of the presence of women in the workplace. "Study after study shows the tangible and real benefits when women have a seat at the table. In all cultures, women have long been responsible for family finances, caring for sick children, tending the garden and managing the family schedule. It's clear that these roles, whether as accountant or economist, healthcare provider, gardener or managing director, will translate into great performance in the workplace too."
During the meeting, Randi Charno Levine shared details about women's empowerment programs promoted by the US Embassy in Portugal, highlighting the importance of bringing diverse perspectives to conflict resolution and decision-making
