The Universidade Católica Portuguesa is among the 30 best institutions worldwide in the Sustainable Development Goal "Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions" (SDG 16) and maintains its global position in a year in which the ranking included 347 more institutions.
In the classification attributed to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Universidade Católica Portuguesa was, in the 2021 edition, in the global Top 30 of SDG 16 on the THE Impact Ranking. This is one of the 17 goals defined in the United Nations 2030 agenda to promote a peaceful and inclusive society, with universal access to justice and the existence of effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
Increasingly valued by higher education institutions around the world, the THE Impact Ranking released by Times Higher Education, counted this year with the participation of 1115 institutions, (a growth of 45%, compared to 2019), increasing the difficulty of a significant positioning due to the increase of this competitiveness.
UCP manages to hold the global position in this ranking, improve its overall score, register the remarkable performance in SDG 16, and raise its position in 4 other SDGs: Good Health and wellbeing, Quality Education, Reduced Inequalities, and also in the category Partnership for the Goals.
THE Impact Ranking University aims to assess the social impact of the actions developed by universities, addressing issues such as gender inequality, quality education, climate change, world peace and economic growth.
