The Rector of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Isabel Capeloa Gil, was considered one of the 100 most powerful women in the country and the 3rd most influential in the area of Education in Portugal, by SÁBADO magazine.
In a special edition dedicated to International Women's Day, the leader of Universidade Católica Portuguesa is distinguished for her success as dean of the "largest educational institution" in the country.
"To lead a university is to project the future and therefore one of the most challenging functions there is. What moves me is to serve the country with ambition for excellence, to risk the untested, looking at past success as inspiration, but knowing that in the future repetition is not a model," the Catholic Chancellor explained to SÁBADO.
The magazine also highlights the role of Isabel Capeloa Gil as the first woman president of the International Federation of Catholic Universities, a position she has held since 2018.
According to SÁBADO, all the women on this list "make a difference every day and are opening the doors for the next generation of leaders to come out of hiding." For Isabel Capeloa Gil, this is done by "motivating by example the huge pool of female talent, paving the way for those who come next."
