Exposição

The project, integrated into the Lisbon and Porto Summer Schools, is curated by Marco Scotini with an exhibition display by Ângela Ferreira.

On June 29, Católica, in Lisbon, launched the exhibition "Disobedience Archive (The Agitational Billboard)". The inaugural event was hosted by the President, Isabel Capeloa Gil, marking the start of a major cultural and academic programme of international scope.

The programme began at the Cardeal Medeiros Auditorium with a talk between the artist Ângela Ferreira and the Italian curator Marco Scotini (with curatorial assistance by Alessia Riva), focusing on the design of the exhibition display and the political dimension of the video archive. This was followed by the formal opening to the public at the Galeria Fundação Amélia de Mello.

Disobedience Archive operates as an evolving atlas of contemporary practices of resistance, bringing together video works by international creators such as Ege Berensel, Seba Calfuqueo, Simone Cangelosi, Marcelo Expósito & Nuria Vila, Ali Essafi, Maria Galindo & Mujeres Creando, Sara Jordenö, Angela Melitopoulos, Carlos Motta, Pinar Ogrenci, Daniela Ortiz, Güliz Sağlam, Tita Salina & Irwan Ahmett, Sim Chi Yin, and Mohanad Yaqubi.

This exhibition project is part of the scientific framework of the XVI Lisbon Summer School for the Study of Cultureand the Porto Summer School on Art & Cinema. In 2026, both summer initiatives dedicate their critical reflection to the overarching theme of Disobedience, bridging academic research and contemporary artistic practice.

The exhibition is open to the public at the Galeria Fundação Amélia de Mello, located at Católica's Lisbon campus.
